Osmos Kosmos

A confluence of art and science through the development of biosynthetic textiles. This artwork is aspirational research, a proof-of-concept incorporating natural elements in order to form embellishment, allure and couture through grown biodegradable textile. Our aim is to create a second layer of life, an “Osmos” - a membrane for exchange. Made from the same substance as the earth the human body does not end with its skin, it expands into Kosmos. A Serendipity for the wounded soul as beauty is healing. Through pattern recognition and AR we envision the grown textile as a digital garden. Augmented reality let's us use the tangible, our organically grown "fabric", and gives the life that made it a reality continue virtually.
Linda Nurk is a couture artist. What she seeks in the materials she uses may be harmony with the body or it may be juxtaposition but it is always a performance, a dance. Jonas Johansson is an anywhere based artist transforming light + technology through & play, space and (un)human intervention.
