A waste project
“Waste is a design flaw”. - Kate Krebs
Traditional resources are finite and expensive but waste is abundant and cheap. By retrieving some of these
resources from the disposal stream and re-imagining them in new contexts, we can add value to them and revise
common perception about waste materials.
This collection is made from by-products of poultry industry, namely, eggshells and feathers. The aim is to create
alternatives for plastic disposables and encourage sustainable living. All the objects are 100% biodegradable and
once their purpose is over, they can literally be crushed and thrown away in the compost.
Midushi is a young designer from India who recently graduated from Central St. Martins with a Masters degree in
Industrial Design. She follows a material-driven approach to solving design related issues and creates radically new,
useful products.
